Thoughts on fostering growth through empathy
- a blog for parents -
If you're reading this blog post, I have one question for you: Why?
Why are you reading this? What about this blog, the title, the subtitle, the previous entries brings you to read this?
Essentially, what is it about the idea of "parenting with empathy" that's drawing you here? Why does this matter to you?
Understanding "why" we do anything is the basis for understanding where we get our sense of meaning and purpose. It tells us what we value and in turns helps us live our values.
I exercise, meditate and eat well because the health of my brain and body, and the gift that is "this one life" I have to live matter to me. I value my health and opportunity to fully live this life.
I blog because I enjoy learning and writing, specifically about how parenting impacts children and how to support parents to "parent" in a way that enriches their experience of parenting while it improves the lives of their children.
Why are you reading this blog about parenting through empathy? Why does this interest you? Why does it matter?
